Abstraction of Artefacts
MAY 2022
The question of the region has been part of the core pedagogical enquiry at WCFA. We at WCFA connected well with the 2021 Architecture Humanities Research Association Conference’s brief floated for the student competition. As a school we have been looking to engage with this brief and this 3-day design workshop is giving an excellent opportunity to engage with that brief.
WCFA has developed an overarching theme as a guide to run these 3-day design workshop, where each mentor can shape it in their own way.
Vidhyashankar has his architecture practice at his hometown Kumbakonam, Tamilnadu (since Aug 2014). He was working with the Architect Dean De Cruz, Goa, during 2013-2014. There he got opportunity to work on projects of intense design explorations with the Master Architect. Vidhyashankar completed his M.Arch from CEPT University, Ahmedabad (2010-2012), specializing on Architecture ‘Theory & Design’. He completed his B.Arch from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (2002-2007). He did his graduate training with Architect Kukke Subramanya, Bangalore, which was his initiation in to the design practice.
Vidhyashankar is also being a visiting lecturer at a few reputed Architecture schools in Trichy (since Aug 2014), where he is continuing his academic interests through teaching. He regards teaching as an activity that has a complimentary relevance to his professional practice.
