Surendran Aalone
Surendran’s key interests have always revolved around sustainability and construction that uses locally available materials like bamboo, mud, and lime. Keeping these interests in mind, he began working with Indigo Architects in 2012. Here, he worked on projects that kept environmental consciousness and sustainable design at the forefront.
Today, Surendran is a senior architect with Bengaluru-based Manasaram Architects under Ar. Neelam Manjunath. His approach toward architecture continues to keep sustainability as its prime focus.
An IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) accredited professional, Surender has also conducted an international workshop as part of Manasaram architects at the World Bamboo Workshop 2019. He has also facilitated various other workshops on mud construction.
Since 2020, he has been bringing this environmentally conscious approach toward architecture to the students at the WCFA.
