Sharad Narayan
Sharad began his architectural career working for Ar. Sarabjeet Singh, a protege of Edgar Demello. He has worked on multiple projects of Architecture, Interior Design and Master Planning. Through the subsequent years he has maintained his individual practice with Architecture, Interior Design and Masterplanning Projects.
As an academician, Sharad’s core interest lies in the urban paradigm and its importance in the context of architectural design and ecology. He also has a deep interest in the teaching of construction methods and material sciences. Through his academic work, he has been able to contribute to policy making efforts in Bengaluru, submitting data collected through his urban design studio to the public datasets curated by OpenCity. In, an urban data portal. He has co-authored an upcoming article about the effects of Urban Heat Islands on the quality of Walkability, based on the findings of a data jam conducted by OpenCity.in, in collaboration with WRI and ATREE.
Outside of his core Architectural knowledge base, Sharad is an avid naturalist and wildlife enthusiast, with interests in ecology and wildlife conservation having intertwining sensibilities with architecture, urban design and regional planning. He strongly believes that the future of architecture and architecture education cannot be treated as separate from the future of ecology, environment and climate change.
