Madvesh N. Pandurangi
Madvesh N. Pandurangi has been teaching since 2005 at several prestigious institutions across India, including the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Kannur,(2014-2022), Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath in Bengaluru, and Chamarajendra Government Visual Art College in Mysore. He has also served as a resource person for various art and design institutes, including the National Institute of Design (NID) in Bengaluru, where he contributed to the Liberal Arts program. During his tenure, he has guided students in areas such as Art History, Aesthetics, Visual Representation, Design Aesthetics, and Material Studies.
At NIFT, he coordinated the Craft Research and Documentation project under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and the Upgrading Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development (USTTAD) scheme under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, focusing on the Uru boat-making craft of Kozhikode, Kerala. Additionally, Madvesh conducted research for a bibliography project on Modern and Contemporary
Art in India for the Karnataka chapter and presented his findings at the colloquium “Locating Art Histories: Dialogues on Language, Writing, and Research in India” at the School of Arts & Aesthetics, JNU, New Delhi. His interests include popular visual culture, handicraft heritage, curation, and archiving.
