Salila’s work experience spans practice, teaching, and research in architecture, urban design, and urban planning in
India and the United States of America.
Her research interests span the fields of public space, public art, participatory governance, and spatial politics in the Global South. As an independent researcher, she presents her work in conferences and publishes in international journals and books, and also works on collaborative research projects that are interdisciplinary in nature.
Awards & Recognition
Salila is Project Coordinator of a three-member research team’s project titled “Narratives of Visual Culture and Spatial Politics: A study of public statues in post-1990s Bangalore”, a Foundation Project implemented by India Foundation for the Arts, Bangalore under the Project 560 programme, made possible with Sony Pictures Entertainment Fund (March 2022 – September 2023)
