We are constantly striving to contribute to initiatives that better the quality of education and the practice in the field of Architecture. As a part of this, we have initiated programmes that go beyond academic objectives. These have contributed to building an inclusive presence in the city and the fraternity.
WCFA Architecture Repository
The Repository is established to document and study Mysore’s rich heritage. The primary vision is to acquire, organise and preserve the architectural history of Mysore and its regions. The repository will archive information related to architecture, planning, design and allied disciplines and will involve collecting drawings, historical data, photographs, records, etc. Dedicated to collecting, recording, and disseminating information, the repository will actively engage and aim to offer this comprehensive, well-curated and easily accessible archival information to students and scholars for reference and research.
WCFA Open Library
WCFA library has a well-curated resource of books relating to Architecture and allied subjects. The Open Library is an initiative to allow access of the library to students of other institutions and to Architects in the city, through a process of membership.
WCFA Collaborative Program
WCFA has an ongoing collaborative program with 3 other schools of Architecture in India. Care School of Architecture, Tiruchirappalli, Avani School of Architecture, Kozhikode and SEA School of Architecture, Mumbai.
The collaboration relates to academic learning, sharing of resources, collaborative studio programs, etc., A definitive part of the program in the past has been to curate one of the design studios of the 3rd year students with common strategies, followed by an exchange of 2 students each to the other collaborative institutes, to be hosted, and to learn at their institutes for a fortnight, followed by a colloquium hosted by one of the colleges, which is attended by selected students and staff from WCFA.
WCFA is recognized by the ‘Council of
Architecture,’ New Delhi and is affiliated to
‘Visveswaraya Technological University’,
Belgaum.
