Francis DK Ching had his first book published in 1975 and is now the bestselling author of numerous books on architecture and design. Born and raised in Honolulu, he began his teaching career in 1972 at the University of Ohio after several years in professional practice and is currently a registered architect and Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Frank’s writing and illustrating grew from his experience while teaching, and he is now a world-renowned author and architecture educator. His approach to the discipline of hand drawing emphasizes the importance of understanding spatial concepts and the ability to think and visualize in three dimensions.
The lecture spoke about the importance of drawing and how one can use it as a tool to observe, think and design.
