Professor

Following his graduation, he worked as an Urban Designer in Dubai at Amar Consult, Parsons – Harland Bartholomew Associates and at Dubai Municipality as a Senior Planner on various Urban Design and Urban Planning projects including the Structure Plan of Dubai.

Nelson established the architectural design firm – 2PKM Architects, Mangalore in 2014, along with Monica Kamath and Asif Mohammed and has designed and realised several building types including single dwelling units, housing and campus master plans. He was also an active member of IDF, Mangalore which is a non-profit collective of professionals

Nelson has been a visiting faculty at MIT Manipal and USD Mysore. He also conducted an Urban Design Studio along with Prof PVK Rameshwar in Mangalore for M.Arch students from CEPT Ahmedabad in 2012. He served as Professor- Design Chair at MIT, Manipal University from 2008 – 2011.

Nelson is a founder member of Design Foster ( Design Foundation for Study, Education and Research ), a trust that is setting up an architecture school at Mysore, India.

Nelson was part of a consortium which was awarded HUDCO’s “New and Innovative Town Design Solutions/Eco Cities” category of the HUDCO – Design Awards 2013 for MEPL Celebrations Township, Mangalore.
